Focus on your Health

There were several moments last year where I didn’t take the best care of myself. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the demands and balancing act of children, career, finding time for yourself, etc. I inevitable became overworked, exhausted and got sick. Scheduling time around what is the most important to you and your health is key. What is critical to your happiness? Is it family? fitness? free time? Take care of that first. Set your priorities and fill the rest in with the little stuff. 

This is one of my favorite examples of putting the big things in first!

You are what you eat!

Practice 80/20 (The general concept is simple: You eat clean, nutrient-dense foods 80 percent of the time and leave room for indulgences 20 percent of the time) you have the freedom to play and enjoy a meal (or a cocktail) with friends, but most importantly, it makes the feeling good while getting the body you want feel a whole lot more doable in long run.

Daily Meditation Practice

I have been meditating regularly for a over a year now and I can genuinely say that it has changed my life in many ways. Meditating is more than sitting in an awkward position and chanting.  There is a ton of science behind the benefits of meditation and its being wildly popular for its vast benefits of:

I’ve always loved that little phrase: “Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe.” We want to be heard and be known. There is a lot of research around why we we need community. 

Sharing a relationship with people that just ‘get’ you and your interests is huge. They will serve as an amazing support system, cheering squad, and a sense of community that is hard to find elsewhere. It is also intensely rewarding to provide this space for others and provide a great sense of purpose to your life. 

Live Your Life and Pursue Your Dreams

Steve Jobs once said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.

All too often life interjects, bills pile up, and we find ourselves performing jobs we don’t want to do just to make it through the day. What’s important to you? Shake it up, break the trend, and live like you only get one spin. 

Most Importantly:

Laugh. Joke. HAVE FUN! Try not to take things too serious! Bad stuff happens -it’s okay! Life is a series of problems, pick the better ones. You are in 100% control of how you choose to handle the situation and the problems you are willing to sacrifice for. Don’t worry what other people think of you you are okay the way you are! There are already way too many rules, you have to decide for yourself what’s good for you. Live life on your own terms.
