QWhat's the difference between the cold plunge and cryotherapy?
Both use cold to trigger a similar hormonal and anti-inflammatory response, but they feel and function a little differently. The cold plunge is wet (~45°F, 2–4 minutes) and is the better tool for vascular training — especially cycled with sauna as Fire & Ice. Whole-body cryotherapy is dry, far colder, and much shorter (2–3 minutes), which makes it faster and easier to tolerate for a quick anti-inflammatory and mood lift. Many members use both depending on the day and how much time they have. Neither is "better" — they're complementary.
QDo I really need skincare products if I'm doing red light therapy?
You don't need them, but they work on your skin from a different direction, so they pair well. Red light and HBOT both support your skin from the inside — red light feeds the collagen machinery, HBOT drives circulation and oxygen to skin tissue — while a good topical routine delivers antioxidants, hydration, and collagen-signaling ingredients from the outside. If you only did one, red light on its own would still do a lot. If you want to go further, the six-product skincare stack earlier in this guide is a simple place to start — and when you're choosing products, pay attention to the full ingredient list, not just the active, since the cleaner formulations tend to be the ones worth sticking with.
QI'm in my 60s or 70s. Is it too late for this to make a difference?
Not at all — and the research is genuinely encouraging here. The landmark HBOT aging studies were conducted specifically on adults over 64, and that's the population where researchers observed the collagen, senescent-cell, and cognitive changes. The strength training research is similar: adults in their 70s, 80s, and beyond still build muscle and improve balance and bone density with resistance training. The sauna longevity data comes from a cohort followed into later life. Aging biology stays responsive — the systems this protocol works on are still very much active. What changes is the emphasis: at this stage, muscle preservation, balance, and cognitive support tend to matter more than skin texture. Start where you are, go at your own pace, and check with your doctor about anything you're unsure of.
QIs HBOT safe? It sounds intense.
It's gentler than it sounds. You're simply resting in a comfortable, pressurized chamber breathing oxygen through a mask — most people read, listen to music, or doze off. HBOT is well established in medicine (it's FDA-cleared for things like wound healing), and the wellness sessions we offer run at mild pressures. For healthy adults, it's generally well-tolerated. The most common sensation is a bit of ear pressure as the chamber pressurizes, similar to an airplane taking off — and it resolves with the same simple yawn-or-swallow trick. That said, HBOT isn't right for everyone. It's not recommended if you have certain lung conditions, an active ear infection, or take certain medications. Before your first session you'll review and sign a waiver that clearly lists the contraindications, so you'll know exactly what to look out for. If anything on that list applies to you — or you're simply not sure — please check with your doctor first. We'd always rather you ask.
QCan I do all the services in one visit?
You can, though a full visit takes several hours. A practical single-visit sequence, following our standard order: Cold Plunge → Tonal → Sauna → Red Light → Float. The order isn't arbitrary — cold comes before lifting on purpose, because cold immediately after a strength session can blunt the muscle-building response you just earned. Lift, then let heat and light do the recovery work. Most members build up to a full visit over time, starting with 2–3 services and adding as they get comfortable with each one.
QI'm in my 40s. Is it too early to start?
Your 40s are arguably the most important decade to begin — not because damage is irreversible before then, but because the processes we described (muscle loss, telomere shortening, mitochondrial decline, senescent-cell accumulation) are already meaningfully underway by 40. Addressing them before they're advanced is far more effective than trying to later. Collagen loss after 25 is continuous; the time to support collagen is before you've lost half of it. And the sauna longevity data reflects a 20-year effect — the earlier the practice starts, the more of that curve you capture.
