What is Tonal?

Your personal trainer.
All in one.

Tonal is a wall-mounted smart strength training system that uses digital resistance — up to 250 lbs — and AI coaching to deliver a precision workout that adapts to your every move.

It tracks your strength in real time, adjusts resistance automatically, and coaches you through every rep. No stacks of plates. No guesswork. Just intelligent, efficient training that gets results.

At Lost in Float, Tonal is the anchor of the Recovery Stack — included with every membership tier and open now during regular hours. After-hours member access is now open too — 4am to midnight, 7 days a week — so you can train on your schedule.

How it works

Smarter than any weight rack

Tonal uses electromagnetic resistance instead of physical weights. The result is smoother, safer, and more precise than traditional equipment — and it adapts to you in real time.

🤖
AI that learns you
Tonal's AI tracks your strength output in real time and adjusts resistance automatically — increasing when you're strong, backing off when you're fatigued. It learns your body and gets smarter every session.
⚡
Digital resistance
Up to 250 lbs of electromagnetically generated resistance. Smoother than free weights, more precise than cables, and completely silent. No plates to load, no collars to tighten — just grab and go.
📊
Real-time coaching
Built-in cameras and sensors track your form and tempo with every rep. You get live feedback and cueing — like having a trainer watching every set, correcting every movement.

What it delivers

Everything you get from Tonal

💪
Muscle Building
Progressive overload is the foundation of muscle growth — and Tonal automates it. The AI increases resistance as you get stronger, ensuring you're always training at the right intensity for real adaptation.
🔥
Fat Loss & Metabolism
Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat. Every pound of muscle you build with Tonal raises your basal metabolic rate — compounding your fat loss results over time, even on days you don't train.
🎯
Precision & Form
Real-time form feedback catches bad habits before they become injuries. Tonal's sensors track your bar path, tempo, and range of motion on every rep — and coaches you through corrections in the moment.
⏱️
Efficient Workouts
No waiting for equipment, no plates to swap, no wasted time. Tonal's guided programs are designed for efficiency — most workouts run 20-45 minutes and deliver measurably better results than equivalent gym sessions.
📈
Trackable Progress
Every session is recorded. You can see exactly how much stronger you're getting over time — rep by rep, set by set. Tonal tracks your strength score and gives you concrete data on your progress.
🤸
Full Body Training
Chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs, core — Tonal covers everything. Hundreds of guided exercises across push, pull, hinge, squat, and carry patterns. One machine, complete programming.
★★★★★  ·  Member Review
"The Tonal is legit. The biggest skepticisms I had were lat pull and dead lift. Both were part of the intro, and the lat pull was the best I've ever had. The workout was focused on both side strength — I always cheat on my left side, and the workout would call me out any time I would try. Awesome workout. All in."

Advanced lifting modes

Build muscle up to 2x faster.

Tonal's advanced lifting modes take traditional strength training to another level. Drop Sets automatically adjust the weight the moment your form starts to break — so you get maximum stimulus without ever having to re-rack.

Burnout, Eccentric, and Chains modes apply the same intelligent automation — turning every set into a precision tool for adaptation.

Drop Sets
Weight drops automatically when fatigue hits — pushing past your normal limit without stopping.
Eccentric
Adds resistance on the way down to maximize muscle damage and accelerate growth.
Burnout
Automatically reduces weight so you can squeeze out every last rep to true muscle failure.
